Something NOT country

Well, I was informed but my Uncle Aaron that there is TOO MUCH COUNTRY stuff on our blog. So I am out to prove that I am INDEED a lover of all types of music. So I'm dedicating this list to you , Aaron. Some of these songs I wasn't able to listen to all the way through before I put them on the list and although I like harder stuff, I try to avoid the vulgar. So...If some slipped in...oops, sorry!
Oh and Uncle Aaron, I threw some in there that just remind me of you. . . . Mwahahahaha!

PISTOL ANNIES!!!

As you probably know by now, I LOVE MUSIC! What you may not know is that for me, there are two categories of music. Country(including bluegrass, folk and the such) and everything else. For me the grass roots-twang thang-beer talking-bar hoppin'-cheating-dead dog-blue jean-cowboy lovin'- praise God, Jesus and Family thing is something all it's own for me. It is me.(Well... some of those things not SO much. LOL) Other music gives me joy, but I wouldn't be me without the COUNTRY MUSIC! So... I found this great new site called The Boot that is all about the country music. WOOT WOOT! And even better, I found out (on The Boot) that one of my very favorite artists (Miranda Lambert) is in a new band with two other great singer/songwriters called The Pistol Annies. I don't think they have released their new album yet but I have been listening to some of the songs and I LOVE THEM!!!! The 3 of them sound so good together and it is some good ol' country/folk/bluegrass stuff from the perspective of these tell it like it is ladies. I'm so excited to get their album and memorize all the songs. YAY!!! What do you think people???

Bluegrass/Folk

I am totally lovin' the bluegrass and folk genres right now. I love the vocal  harmonies of bluegrass music. I love the banjo and the mandolin and such all meshed together making wonderful sounds. I love the sometimes melancholy feel and the chill vibe you get while listening to these types of music. I am including some of my favorites as of right now. ENJOY!

The Reason I Love Music

So from the time I can remember there has been music in my life. I grew up with it all around me, and not only me but my sisters and my parents also. My Grandpa was in bands and would play at different places. He would play for us girls also. I was too young to remember but I remember stories from my sisters and parents talking about him playing guitar and singing for us. My grandma on that same side loved dancing to her music.
One of the first groups I remember that I would listen and sing to constantly is The Judds. I loved them! Growing up me and my sisters would sing and make music videos. My dad would sing a song to anything, you would say a sentence and he had a song to go with it. My mom would sing in the car and with us Girls whenever she could.
I was in singing groups growing up and I always loved it. So Even to this day those things continue. My family is a very musical family and I absolutely love it! I love music and it is a part of my life and my family's lives, we as a family have always been so close and I really think its because we have this one thing(amongst others) that tie us all together and that we can all agree on!
